This is a brilliant contribution, Conway, thank you. We still have a chance to ensure that goodness prevails, but we must be prepared to view this as the greatest conflict in history on which everything depends. We already have everything we need, technologically speaking, to render this Earth of ours a peaceful paradise. Those who have concentrated and wield Power, those Few, are motivated by self-aggrandizing illusions and depravity. They have not won yet. Thank you.

Personally, I believe that the human population of our planet is at an unsustainable level already. Looking at things evolutionarily, as you point out, when a species population grows to an unsustainable level there's always a crash of some kind. I like to think that we could proactively think of some way (short of deliberately killing a lot of people) to encourage population attrition; however, that's probably a pipedream and we will self-destruct in some other way.

I don't personally believe there is a huge deliberate conspiracy to reduce the population. I'm sure there are powerful entities working toward that aim (WEF?). But no supreme villain cackling under a volcano somewhere.

I look forward to future installments especially concerning mitochondria, which is pretty much in my wheelhouse.
