A number of bodies have been found buried in shallow graves.
The media is stating they were followers of a small church, and believed death by starvation would bring them eternal peace and a sure place in heaven.
Whether this did or did not happen, I will leave for you to discuss.
My interest lies with what I found in the comment sections below these articles posted on Facebook.
“Give them all a Darwin award” - one commenter wrote.
“That's 73 less nutters in the world” - wrote another
“We should ban religion” - another pipes in with fire at their finger tips.
“What a bunch of stupid muppets”
The list goes on, and on.

What is a cult and how is it defined?
Having a charismatic leader, who increasingly becomes an object of worship.
A process of indoctrination or education is in use that can be seen as coercive persuasion or thought reform commonly called "brainwashing"
Economic, sexual, and other exploitation of group members by the leader and the ruling coterie.
Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.
No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.
Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions.
There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil.
The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.
Just take a moment to reflect on the criteria.
I mean, imagine not being able to openly discuss or debate anything.
Imagine blindly obeying instructions
Forced to assume everything your leaders wanted.
The single source of truth.
And you could never ever question it.
I wonder if anyone there tried to stop it?
Can you just imagine a bunch of starving families huddled together in their remote village and that one guy who just had to keep asking questions.
Do you really think this is the way to heaven?
Are you sure this is what we are supposed to do?
Is there no other way?
What if our leader is wrong, might be using us..?

This such a tragic misuse of our life given free will. I do wonder what, in humility, in my experience, has shaped me to see, sense and feel this cult like behaviour during the last few years and to stay at the edges of the mass group think and insanity.
